Shell to Expand Inland Maritime LNG Network

Shell Oil plans to build out its natural gas infrastructure, creating two "transport corridors" to serve marine operators and industrial customers using liquefied natural gas fuel.

The Great Lakes and Gulf Coast LNG transport corridors will be based on small-scale liquefication units that will help supply natural gas fuel for businesses in those regions.The plants intially would supply LNG to commercial marine operators plying the Mississippi, Intercoastal Waterway, Gulf of Mexico, the Great Lakes, and St. Lawrence Seaway. Pending regulatory approval, the plants could be running within three years, the company said.
